On the 26th & 27th July 2014 Cleethorpes held one of it’s biggest and best events to come to the little seaside town, The Cleethorpes Airshow.
The weather on that weekend was almost perfect. Warm, sunny and with plenty of cloud which added an interesting backdrop to the action. All of the aircraft on display were impressive, but none more so than the Red Arrows and their coloured smoke.
One of the most poignant parts of the day was marked by the flyover from the The Royal Air Force Battle of Britain Memorial Flight which saw the iconic RAF BBMF, Lancaster, Spitfire and Hurricane in the sky above the beach. It was a powerful reminder with a memorable sound as the Lancaster, Spitfire and Hurricane all passed above the pier.
The RAF Red Devils parachute regiment kicked off the show with an arial display.
